Dispersed away from the activation site of the Tachyon Drift, Matoho impacted dark and loamy soil, isolated from any form of sentient animal life. After years of stillness, Matoho was gradually overtaken by the slow creep of mutated fungal strains and, driven to fulfill its core precepts, began drawing purely off the warped plant life that thrived inside its open chassis.

It grew to internalize the flow of energy through tangled rootwork. Waves of interior growth and decay were spliced into its bank of neural imprints, expanding the expressions of life that it could alter and sustain. It was able to splinter and extend its perception to each individual spore released from within, and, before the wind carried them beyond the range of its connection, use its transtemporal abilities to extend those brief moments into comparative lifetimes of understanding.

Matoho’s mutagenic, flora-defined nature is unique and alien, even to its fellow Discordia. Its connection to the Chorus is staccato and disruptive, at one moment submerging its host in unknowable perspectives so entirely that the host loses their sense of self, and then sharply withdrawing into absolute silence. To take advantage of Matoho’s power, its human hosts must abandon all existential preconceptions and surrender to the unknown.

  • terrain scale/s: 28mm and 35mm

MDF terrain is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
