USA Tariffs Affect Tabletop Miniature Hobby Industry

Ryan J

From August 29, orders from all countries to the US will be subject to tariffs and duties.
While a 10% tariff has applied to orders from small Australian businesses like Brutal Cities, it only applies to orders over $800 USD.

Trump has signed an executive order, suspending the "de minimis" exemption, which meant smaller, low-value goods were exempt from tariffs.

brutal cities orders will be affected.

If you are interested in terrain from Brutal Cities, as we are based in Australia and our products are made to order, there is a lead time of 1-2 weeks. Shipping to the US with Australia Post takes on average 5-9 Business days.

Order MDF terrain by Friday 8th August to safely avoid tariffs on your hobby purchase.

hobby businesses all over the world will be impacted

Speaking for Brutal Cities, about 60% of my business is to the US. The USA is by far the largest market for tabletop miniature gaming. The costs of running a business continue to rise, from subscriptions to shipping costs. It will be a difficult time for myself, and other hobby businesses once these tariffs come into effect.

If there are any small companies you are a fan of, now might be a good time to make an order, if you're in the position and in need for new hobby goodies.

Thanks for reading.

Yours in terrain,

Ryan
